Mega-Rod has a long association with the cities of Bath, Bristol and the surrounding areas.
We are still a family company and not a large franchise operation. Unlike most other drainage companies we do not pay our engineers on commission. We want our drainage engineers to be on the customer’s side and not a salesperson in disguise.
Originally founded as Bath Drain and Jetting Services in 1980, our family company began working on specialised high-pressure jetting operations such as the pool construction at the Bath Sports & Leisure Centre and blocked drains at The University of Bath.
As time went by we expanded our services to include a vacuum tanker service for domestic septic tanks, although we also use our tankers for clients such as the council at Bath’s world-famous Roman Baths.
We were earlier adopters of drainage CCTV technology and were amongst the first companies in the UK to produce colour drain CCTV surveys.
In the 1990s and 2000s, we expanded our operation to include large-diameter train jetting with a fleet of lorries. We decided to change the name to Mega-Rod to reflect the size of the drains we were capable of clearing. While still clearing small domestic pipes, we also began to work closely with Wessex Water on their sewer network responding to emergency drain blockages but also offering planned maintenance operations too.
In 2011 we were successful in becoming the first local company to be a Wessex Water contractor for the new arrangements for the adoption of private sewers.
We are very proud to be a Which Trusted Trader and share their core values of offering honest and clear prices and excellent customer service.
