Blocked drain drama, all sorted!! I have used Megarod before, and once again, they were excellent. They were here promptly and sorted it with minimum fuss! Thank you to Tom for arranging everything and Daryl for sorting it out on the day!

Really top quality service from Tom and Andy. We had a blocked toilet, they came out and sorted the issue the next day. Two weeks later the same toilet was blocked - they came out and found the issue was unrelated (which upon explanation made total sense). Yet as a goodwill gesture they didn’t charge us for the second visit. Very rare to get this level of service, highly recommend these guys.

We have called Mega Rod twice to clear drains and for advice. Both times they have responded quickly and professionally and have been a pleasure to deal with. As well as solving a problem. No hesitation in recommending them for any drain issues and/or investigative work.

Had a totally blocked drain and tried to clear it myself using drain rods. These came unscrewed in the drain leaving 10 metres of rods stuck somewhere in the drain.Within an hour of calling them their engineer arrived and was able to force the rods back up the drain to the access point and pull them out. All sorted within less than 30 minutes.Customer service was excellent from start to finish, knowledge and expertise of the engineer who came on site was first class.I would never use anyone else again (and certainly wont be using my own rods again). If you have a problem with your drains call these guys straight away, their service is first class, reliable and trustworthy and I cannot recommend them highly enough.

We had a blocked toilet and, as it turned out, a blocked line. We called Mega-Rod and were given a clear quote of how much it would cost to fix. Since we called on a Saturday we were told it'd be more expensive to get it sorted on the day and were told if we can wait until Monday to do so to save the money. We couldn't, so Andy was sent over within a couple of hours.Andy was amazing - he got the job done quickly and efficiently. He went above and beyond - he explained exactly what the issue was, and gave us more information about our system and what to watch out for (we are first time home owners, so all the advice he gave us was priceless!).Hopefully we won't need Mega-Rod's drainage services again, but if we do, there's no other company we'd call!Thank you, Andy for the great job done!

I find myself posting another very positive review for this company. I find the customer service absolutely impeccable with the owner of the company even arranging urgent visits to my house whilst he is on holiday. All of the staff with whom I've had contact have been highly knowledgeable, courteous and providers of solutions whereby my drainage can be more efficient and not cause continued problems. They also have all the kit so it's not just a man visiting with his rod but you have technology and power which combined with the friendliness makes for a very stressfree experience.I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending this company to those looking for support and quick fix help.

Mega-Rod responded to my issue in a prompt and professional manner. When the engineer attended my property he was friendly and talked me through what had been found and what works he was undertaking. The engineer resolved the issue in less than an hour but his process was thorough. The engineer took care in my possessions, returning all items as they were found. I would have no doubts in using this company going forward.

The use of CCTV to survey drains is becoming more common in the plumbing industry. With this technology, plumbers are able to identify and diagnose potential issues quickly and accurately. A CCTV drain survey involves using a camera on a flexible rod to explore the internal drains and pipes of a structure, allowing for a detailed visual examination of the condition of the system. This type of survey is crucial for diagnosing existing or potential problems within a plumbing system.

5 key details you should know:

These surveys use high-tech CCTV cameras to uncover issues, such as blockages, cracks, or leaks, before they become even more expensive concerns.

    1. What is a CCTV Drain Survey?

A CCTV drain survey is a process used to inspect the condition of underground drainage systems. This procedure involves the use of cameras and other tools to accurately assess and diagnose any damage or blockages in the pipes. It is an efficient way to identify problems, such as broken pipework, tree root infiltration, collapsed drains, and sediment build-up, without having to dig up the entire drainage system.

    2. What are the benefits?

A CCTV Drain Survey is an important tool for evaluating the condition of a drainage system. By providing high-definition images and detailed reports, it can help identify any existing problems or potential risks and uncover issues before they become even more expensive concerns.

The benefits of conducting a CCTV Drain Survey are numerous. It provides an accurate assessment of any damage to the pipes, enabling you to take steps towards repairs with confidence. The survey can also detect blockages such as tree roots, helping you to avoid more serious issues down the line before they develop into costly problems. Additionally, by identifying misaligned joints and pipe deformities, it allows you to prevent unnecessary repair costs associated with these issues. Furthermore, with modern technology, surveys are now completed much faster than before; meaning less disruption and quicker resolutions for customers.

    3. Types of CCTV Drain Surveys

CCTV drain surveys are a reliable, cost-effective method for inspecting the condition of underground pipes and other drainage systems. The survey involves the use of sophisticated, closed-circuit technology to capture images of the internal components and layout of drains, sewers and other subterranean structures. Different types of CCTV drain surveys can be employed depending on the job requirements.

A standard CCTV drain survey is suitable for most applications and produces high-quality images that allow any blockages or damage to be identified quickly and easily. However, if a more detailed analysis is required then a sonde-type survey may be recommended instead. This technique uses an electronic transmitter that sends signals through the pipe to accurately measure its diameter, depth and inclination at various points along its length. In addition, it can identify structural defects in greater detail than a standard CCTV survey.

    4. The Process

The process is quick and straightforward. Firstly, an engineer will insert a small device fitted with a camera into the drainpipe network in order to gain an up-close view of the inside. This technology allows them to conduct an inspection without having to excavate the area – saving time and disruption. During this inspection, they will take several recordings which are then used to produce a detailed report outlining any areas that may need attention or further investigation.

    5. After a CCTV Drain Survey

A CCTV Drain Survey is an important part of the maintenance and inspection process for any drainage system. It involves the use of a camera to inspect the inside of a drain pipe, allowing for detailed analysis and identification of any potential problems that may exist. After a CCTV Drain Survey has been completed, it is essential to take action in order to ensure that your drains are functioning optimally.

The results from the survey can reveal a range of different issues with your drainage system such as blockages, cracks or collapsed pipes. In some instances, more serious problems such as root ingress or structural damage may be identified which will require specialized attention from an experienced professional. Taking action quickly following a CCTV Drain Survey is key in preventing any further damage to your drainage system and ensuring that it remains fit for purpose in the long term.

Not only can CCTV surveys help to diagnose problems, but they also provide a cost-effective way to prevent them in the future. This is a highly efficient and accurate way to identify any problems with drainage systems, providing detailed information for necessary repair or replacement work.

A comprehensive report of findings will be generated by the survey, enabling you to make informed decisions about your drains.

In addition, CCTV technology is an environmentally friendly option as it requires no digging or excavation of the ground, thereby minimising disruption and damage caused by excavations. This makes it the preferred method of surveying by many property owners who are looking to remain eco-friendly while addressing any issues that may arise.
